This is a great opportunity to learn from a renowned farrier at his home forge in East Sussex. This course develops forging technique and uses cadaver limbs to practice accurate fitting. Andrew has a wealth of experience, what ever stage you are in your career and will tailor the course to ensure you achieve the maximum benefit. A maximum of 4 attendees per course ensures plenty of 1:1 time with Andrew building skill. About Andrew

Andrew Casserly has more than 50 years of experience within the industry having begun his career in 1974 and training and qualifying under the mentorship of Michael Cerullo RSS . Dedicated to continual professional development throughout his career, Andrew went on to become an Approved Training Farrier (ATF), successfully training and mentoring 19 apprentices — including his sons, Ben and Jack Casserly. He was later awarded the Fellowship of the Worshipful Company of Farriers (FWCF), one of the profession’s highest qualifications.

In 1980, Andrew founded Casserly and Sons, a mixed farriery practice providing services for a wide range of horses, including show ponies, hunters, and sports horses. He is particularly recognised for his expertise in advanced shoemaking and fitting skills which earned him the opportunity to represent England both individually and as part of the Farriery Team in competitions throughout the UK and internationally. His competitive achievements include being crowned National Champion in 2000 and Reserve World Champion in 2007.

Alongside his practical and competitive work, Andrew has a strong interest in remedial farriery and is especially recognised for his research into frog support pads and packing materials. This research formed the basis of his FWCF thesis and has since been featured in educational lectures and podcasts,

Although he now dabbles with retirement and enjoys gardening and time with his grandchildren, Andrew remains actively involved within the profession as an educator, examiner, and judge.
