Learn how to forge, make and maintain a farriers stamp, pritchel and fuller for shoemaking.
There is no better way to understand how tools work and should be maintained than by making them for yourself. Many machine made farriery shoemaking tools are fantastic but the skills used to create your own by 'hand' is a skill that you will never loose and you can develop over your career.
You will work to your chosen design to create tools out of the 'correct' high carbon tool steel.
By the end of the day you will have gone through the process of;
Forging the individual tools
Grinding the profile
Hardening and tempering
Fitting a handle where appropriate
Final sharpen and polish
You will be the proud owner of a completed hand made set of farriery shoemaking tools, that with correct maintenance should last many years and improve your shoemaking skills.
