Your instructor will share their extensive expertise during an introductory classroom session, covering essential health and safety procedures to ensure a productive and safe learning environment.
Next, you’ll observe live demonstrations showcasing a range of hoof wall and crack repair techniques, including extension procedures and alternative methods used by industry professionals.
After the demonstrations, it’s your turn to take the lead. You’ll enjoy hands-on practical training using your own tools and materials on cadaver limbs, with the chance to experiment with alternative products under expert guidance.
Classroom introduction and health and safety briefing
Lecture: Hoof wall lesions and crack repair
Demonstration: Repair techniques using multiple methods
Demonstration: Hoof wall extensions and corrective applications
Practical session: Guided hands-on work on cadaver limbs

Hands on individual workstation-Ideal to learn new techniques and build skills with tuition from an expert. Mainly aimed at farriers or apprentice farriers.
Observational-Sit in the lectures, observe the demos and the hands on participants. Also ask questions at each workstation. Would suit farriers, apprentice farriers, vets, vet physios or any other paraprofessional.

Tools required:
Pen and paper or computer/tablet
Trimming tools (sharp knives)
1/2 round cutters (optional)
Chaps
PPE, mask, gloves etc
Dremel with assorted bits (optional)
Any additional equipment for hoof debridement and crack repair
A selection of products will be available to try but if you'd like use your own products that you’re familiar with then bring them along.
