This intermediate shoemaking and fitting day is designed for farriers looking to build confidence beyond the fundamentals and refine practical forging and fitting skills in a hands-on environment.

Throughout the day, participants will focus on producing balanced, functional shoes while improving efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail. Topics include shoemaking techniques, fit and finish, nail placement, hoof preparation, and adapting shoes to suit different hoof shapes and working horses.

The course combines forge work, live demonstrations, and practical fitting exercises, giving attendees the opportunity to develop cleaner workmanship and a deeper understanding of functional shoeing principles.

Ideal for established and developing farriers wanting to progress their everyday skills, this course aims to strengthen both technical ability and confidence at the anvil and under the horse.
